June 2008: Parishioners served on the planning
team, as facilitators, as speakers, and as
participants of "Here in Faith," a day of prayer
and storytelling hosted by Loyola University
Chicago. For more information about this event,

April 2008: Dr. Susan Ross presented "Women
and Reconciliation: Where is Justice?" to a
parish-wide group in the social hall.
April 2008: Members of the parish, family, and
friends gathered for a potluck dinner and to see
the movie "For the Bible Tells Me So"
Lent 2008: Small groups met throughout Lent
for weekly prayer as part of the parish ReLent
program. GL & FF Ministry members helped plan
parish-wide events and gave a reflection on the
gospel during Mass on February 24 (text of
Maco's reflection here).
October 2007: Frank DeBernardo, Executive
Director of New Ways Ministry, addressed a
group from across the parish on the topic "The
Prophetic Role of Gays and Lesbians in the
Church"
April 2007: Dr. Patricia Beattie Jung presented
"Developments in Catholic Sexual Ethics:
Exploring the Growing Edges" to a parish-wide
group after the 9:00 am Mass
February 2007: Bowling with friends from the
St. Clement Gay and Lesbian Network
October 2006: Ministry members led the efforts
to repaint the parish social hall, Oldershaw Hall
July 2006: Picnic to meet the new pastor of St.
Nicholas, Fr. Britto Berchmans.
April 2006: Presented the Ninth Station at the
26th Good Friday Walk for Justice in downtown

March 2006: Author James Alison spoke to the
parish on the topic "Faith Beyond Resentment."
August 2005: Sr. Jeannine Gramick spoke and
screened the film "In Good Conscience: Sister
Jeannine Gramick's Journey of Faith."
October 2004: A two-day parish-wide workshop
was held at St. Nicholas entitled "Faith and
Sexuality: Honoring our Relationships with God,
Self and Others." Over 50 parishioners joined
Terry Nelson-Johnson, Paul Giblin, Cristie
Traina, and others for an open, positive
discussion of faith and sexuality drawing on
traditional and collective wisdom and
